How to turn TTML lyrics into a karaoke MP4

You need a source video and a TTML lyrics file with timing. Karaoke Maker combines them into an MP4 with animated lyrics. TTML contains text and timing, so it cannot produce a music video on its own.

Karaoke Maker uses Apple Music-like Lyrics, or AMLL, for scrolling lyrics and word-by-word highlighting when your file includes word timing. Your video and lyrics stay on your device throughout editing and export.

Supported browsers

Use a recent Chromium-based browser, such as Chrome or Edge, or Firefox. Safari and other browsers are not supported, this includes most iOS browsers in the App Store because Apple requires them to use Web-Kit(Safari) engine. Using unsupported browsers may cause errors, previews and rendering may be inaccurate or fail entirely.

1. Prepare your timed lyrics

Create or edit your TTML file in AMLL TTML Tool. Check that the lyrics match your recording. Line timing controls when each line appears; word timing enables word-by-word highlighting. Karaoke Maker reads the timing you supply and does not transcribe audio or automatically align words.

2. Choose your video and TTML file

Open Karaoke Maker and choose both files in Source. Files stay on your device. If the editor reports a compatibility issue, read the warning before continuing. Browser codec support affects which videos can render.

3. Check the timing

Play the preview and compare the highlighted lyrics with the vocals. Use Timing offset to shift the lyrics. Positive values make lyrics appear later. If the timing drifts during the song, check the timestamps in the TTML file and confirm that it matches this version of the recording.

4. Style the lyrics

In Settings, adjust the font, size, colors, outlines, spacing, and placement. Use the background shade to keep text readable over bright scenes. Save a preset if you want to reuse these settings.

Visible lines defaults to two. Each primary or duet line counts together with its background vocals, and stays active while either is singing. Active lines can exceed the line limit. The Visible lines slider offers 1 to 10 lines, then Unlimited. Height Limit defaults to Unlimited at 100% and strictly clips lyrics at smaller heights, even within a line. Enable Keep scroll near end to keep the last lyrics at the top of the line window.

5. Render and download the MP4

Choose Render MP4 and keep the tab open until the export finishes. Download the result from Saved exports. Watch the downloaded video to check the timing and appearance.

Does this remove vocals?

No. Karaoke Maker adds lyrics to your source video. If you want an instrumental soundtrack, prepare a video with that audio before importing it.

What if rendering fails?

Check the compatibility message and the error shown by the editor. Export depends on the browser, device, and source codecs. For help, open a GitHub issue with your browser details and the error message.
